Summary
The year is 1945. Claire Randall, a former combat nurse, is just back from the war and reunited with her husband on a second honeymoon when she walks through a standing stone in one of the ancient circles that dot the British Isles. Suddenly she is a Sassenach—an “outlander”—in a Scotland torn by war and raiding border clans in the year of Our Lord...1743.
Hurled back in time by forces she cannot understand, Claire is catapulted into the intrigues of lairds and spies that may threaten her life, and shatter her heart. For here James Fraser, a gallant young Scots warrior, shows her a love so absolute that Claire becomes a woman torn between fidelity and desire—and between two vastly different men in two irreconcilable lives.
My Review
At first I was scared about reading Outlander because of the size of the book, and everyone on book tube seemed to adore it. Before Istarted reading Outlander I felt a reading Slump going on so I thought just try it and see what I think of it (and I really wanted to watch the TV show but I wanted to read the book first before I did). I'm so glad I started reading it when I did because I absolutely LOVED it, it was exactly what I needed. It was just so full of adventure the plot, I loved the romance and the time travel. I was quite surprise how easy it was to read so that was a pulse for me, I really enjoyed the writing style. I couldn't put Outlander down and when I wasn't reading Outlander it was all I thought about because I just wanted to know what happens next. I adore Claire and Jamie they're great characters to read about especially Claire. That ending thought!! I can't wait to continue on with this series it's a good job I've got all the books aha!! :D
I'm giving Outlander 5 amazing stars!!!!
